Hidden Treasures, Environmental Sculpture Installation 2010
Brendan Davis works in a interesting way in his series Hidden Treasures. The installation is apart of a GPS based treasure hunt that’s meant for participants to use social networking in attempts to search for the environmental art. Lives of Grass: A Sculpture Installation
Lives of Grass is an amazing sculpture by French artist, Mathilde Roussel. I really love how these organic sculptures are suspended in mid-air like it’s falling. I also enjoy how the other piece is balled up in fettle position. Mathilde used a interesting mixture of recycled material alongside the soil and wheat grass, that really brings this piece to life. She goes on to say “Observing nature and being aware of what and how we eat makes us more sensitive to food cycles in the world — of abundance, of famine — and allows us to be physically, intellectually and spiritually connected to a global reality.” Be sure to check out more Mathilde’s work after the jump.
